We're very excited to be releasing this medley of original instrumentals on June 2. Here's what Coole has to say about them… “Crossing the Junction” is named after the neighborhood in Toronto that John and I live on either end of. During the pandemic, we kept busy by posting a fiddle and banjo video every Friday. This was written in the early days of the pandemic when just the act of traversing our own neighborhood to play some music together (outdoors, of course) had an almost forbidden and ominous air to it. “Deer River” is named after the river in Ontario that I grew up fishing in. The A part of the tune was written to emulate the sound and imagery of the many small waterfalls and plunge pools that make up the upper part of the river.
